IPTV on Smart TV Ireland: Setup Without a Box

If you have a recent Samsung or LG Smart TV, you may not need any extra hardware at all to run IPTV.

Checking compatibility

Samsung TVs from 2016 onward and LG TVs running webOS generally support IPTV apps like Smart IPTV directly, no external box required.

Setting it up

Install the Smart IPTV app from your TV's app store, note the MAC address it displays, and send it to your provider for activation.

Once activated, your channel list loads automatically the next time you open the app — no further configuration needed.

If your TV isn't supported

Older or non-Samsung/LG TVs can still run IPTV via an Amazon Fire Stick or Android box connected to any HDMI port — no compatibility issues at all.
